What this site is
Moonwhale Cove is a reading platform for serialised long-form fiction. Stories arrive a chapter at a time, the way they were written — some are translations of novels first serialised in Chinese and Korean, others are original works written for this site. Everything is read in the browser, free to start, with no app to install.
Who makes it
The Cove is run by a small team and a community of translators, each of whom keeps their own byline. Every story page credits its original author and the translator who brought it into English, and every chapter page carries the translator's name. Their work is listed on the Authors page.
How reading works
- Free to read. The published back catalogue of every story is open — no account needed to start, and no chapter limit.
- Advance chapters. Readers who want to get ahead can unlock chapters early with Shells, the site's reading credit. Those chapters unlock for everyone free of charge the moment their scheduled release date arrives — paying moves a chapter forward in time, it never puts one permanently behind a wall.
- Built for long reads. Font, size, spacing, width and theme are all adjustable and follow your account across devices, alongside reading progress, bookmarks and a read-aloud mode.
- Shelves and collections. Follow a story to be notified of new chapters, or group what you have found into public collections others can browse.
Rights and takedowns
Translated works remain the property of their original authors and rights holders; Moonwhale Cove claims no ownership over them. If you hold rights to a work published here and want it removed, write to us via the Contact page — we act on rights-holder requests promptly and without argument.
