Gold Digger, but Forced to Marry the Big Boss Chapter 20
Chapter 20
Being with a king is like being with a tiger; the assistant feels like walking on thin ice.
When they arrived at the surveillance room, there were already two police officers inside, reviewing the footage. The assistant stepped forward to inquire, and one of the officers said, "We've already identified who started it. Look, right here."
The footage rewinds, showing Gao Fengming sitting alone in a corner of the private room, tilting his head back to pour himself a drink. The table beside him was piled with empty bottles, indicating he was already quite drunk. Then someone approached him, said something, and suddenly, Gao Fengming smashed a glass and stood up, throwing a punch. The person who got hit wasn't a pushover either, and they started brawling.
It turns out Gao Fengming was the one who started it.
The officer said, "Your brother was the first to make a move and even knocked out one of the guy's teeth. If the other party insists, your brother will be detained."
The assistant frowned, just about to ask if they could settle it privately, when Gao Bochong already asked, "Can you hear what that person said?"
The officer nodded, pulled up the audio, and after amplifying the sound, they could vaguely hear the person's words: "…self-deluded… Brother Jiang never liked you… laughable."
Gao Bochong said calmly, "Doesn't this count as deliberate provocation?"
The officers exchanged glances.
Originally, with Gao Fengming making the first move, he was at a disadvantage. But now, with the other party provoking, the outcome would be different.
The officers made their judgment and left the surveillance room. The assistant, without needing Gao Bochong's instructions, followed them out.
In the surveillance room, only Gao Bochong remained.
The walls were covered with screens, the cold blue light flickering gently. Gao Bochong leaned slightly forward, manipulating the mouse to rewind the footage to half an hour earlier at the restroom entrance.
This club charged exorbitant fees, and the restroom was uniquely designed, with two doors separating the men's and women's sections, and a central sink with water flowing gently, surrounded by tall potted greenery.
The camera angle was slightly off, just enough to capture the lush greenery and Wang Zhi's Prussian blue attire, so rich and vibrant, like a full Antarctic ice crystal, clear and sweet. Wang Zhi's arms were long and white, bending over to wash his fingertips, his waist forming a smooth arc, his back's bone structure resembling jade.
Gao Bochong quietly stared at the screen for half a minute before slowly fast-forwarding. When Jiang Xubai appeared, he returned the speed to normal.
Then came their conversation, discussing old matters.
Gao Bochong wasn't very interested, just frowning, wondering why Wang Zhi handed Jiang Xubai the soap.
Couldn't Jiang Xubai take it himself?
He had clearly undergone surgery, his vision nearly normal, yet in front of Wang Zhi, he kept up the pretense. And Wang Zhi was foolish enough to fall for it, so willingly taking care of him.
The more Gao Bochong thought about it, the more displeased he felt.
Wang Zhi had never handed him anything. When delivering flowers, he placed them on the table, as if afraid of touching his hand.
The cold blue light reflected Gao Bochong's inscrutable expression. On the screen, Wang Zhi smiled gently at Jiang Xubai, expressing his gratitude, grateful for having such a face, able to win over Gao Fengming.
His eyes and brows were radiant, not a victor's declaration, but a martyr's deep love in the throes of love.
Was it genuine?
Or… a deliberate and pretentious performance.
Gao Bochong scrutinized with the most critical and harsh gaze, yet couldn't detect any trace of pretense in Wang Zhi. It seemed as if those words were genuinely heartfelt.
Genuine?
Gao Bochong had seen Wang Zhi's acting, and even as an outsider, he could tell Wang Zhi's acting was stiff.
If Wang Zhi's acting hadn't suddenly improved dramatically, then it meant Wang Zhi wasn't acting.
He truly loved Gao Fengming.
On every screen, Wang Zhi was smiling, his eyes like stars, his lips soft, colored like spring flowers.
He had fallen in love.
Fallen in love with Gao Fengming.

The air conditioning in the private room was too strong, and Wang Zhi felt a bit cold. But looking at Gao Fengming's expression, he continued to put on a worried face, "Brother, does it still hurt?"
Gao Fengming had a bruise on his cheek, with a wad of tissue stuffed in his nostril, looking quite disheveled. Hearing this, he replied grumpily, "What do you think!"
He got into a fight and got beaten up, why take it out on him?
Wang Zhi rolled his eyes internally, somewhat blaming the person who fought with Gao Fengming—
Why only make Gao Fengming's left nostril bleed? What about the right one!
Wang Zhi applied the medicine a bit too hard, making Gao Fengming hiss.
Just then, someone came in, calling out, "Fengming."
Wang Zhi naturally put down his hand and obediently said, "Brother, is it Big Brother's assistant calling you?"
Gao Fengming looked over and saw it was indeed Gao Bochong's assistant. He quickly got up and went over. After the assistant said something to him, his face turned pale and then back to normal. After a while, he returned and said to Wang Zhi, "Let's go."
Wang Zhi was a bit concerned, "How is it?"
If Gao Fengming really got taken away, would he have to visit him in jail?
Gao Fengming said, "It's settled privately."
"Ah." Wang Zhi genuinely breathed a sigh of relief—he didn't want to visit the police station, "That's great, Brother, the police really know you were set up!"
His tone was filled with relief, as if he had been worried about Gao Fengming all along.
Set up? That's biased to the point of being unreasonable.
Gao Fengming suddenly stopped, and Wang Zhi followed his gaze to see Gao Bochong standing at the door, half his face in shadow, backlit, his expression unreadable.
Gao Fengming was a bit nervous, "Big Brother."
Gao Bochong said calmly, "We'll talk at home."
He had to save some face for him in front of Wang Zhi.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom slowly approached, and Wang Zhi's gaze was immediately drawn to it, watching the shiny black lacquered surface reflect starlight-like glimmers under the door lights.
Wang Zhi's eyes sparkled too.
This was the most beautiful meal ticket… no, car he had ever seen.
The car door was already open, and Gao Bochong got in. Wang Zhi, being sensible, intended to sit in the front passenger seat, but was pulled back by Gao Fengming.
Wang Zhi, not understanding, looked up and met Gao Fengming's eyes, inexplicably reading his emotions.
He didn't dare sit in the back with Gao Bochong.
Wang Zhi: …
He didn't dare either!
Wang Zhi pretended not to understand Gao Fengming's thoughts, playing dumb and standing with him, both of them staring blankly at the Rolls-Royce. Then, inside the car, Gao Bochong suddenly got out, sat in the front passenger seat with a cold face, and said, "Get in."
Wang Zhi and Gao Fengming both breathed a sigh of relief, quickly and neatly getting into the car, sitting in the back. Because they were both afraid of Gao Bochong, their movements were extremely synchronized.
Gao Bochong glanced at them through the rearview mirror, then withdrew his gaze, "Drive."
