EHTM | Chapter 7 – I Like Her, So I Will Have Her

Besides being Mrs. Xie, Shen Donghuan was also Xie Yuming’s personal secretary, handling many important projects.

Since she had decided to divorce Xie Yuming, quitting her job was inevitable. She needed to hand over all her projects.

The next morning, Shen Donghuan returned to the company and handed over every project she could. The only one left was a billion-dollar deal she couldn’t transfer yet.

She had spent three whole months convincing President Wu of the other company to agree to a dinner meeting with Xie Yuming that evening. If this dinner went well, the billion-dollar deal would be sealed.

At this critical moment, Shen Donghuan couldn’t trust anyone else with it. Even though she didn’t want to see Xie Yuming, she had no choice but to knock on his office door for the sake of the project.

Shen Donghuan looked at Xie Yuming, with his gold-rimmed glasses and cold, handsome face. He was busy texting Fu Ling, not even glancing up. A bitter taste rose in her mouth.

But she quickly pushed her emotions aside and placed the documents that needed his signature on his desk, all business.

“Mr. Xie, these documents need your signature today.”

Xie Yuming’s hand froze when he heard her call him “Mr. Xie.” He lifted his sharp gaze, studying her with a hint of confusion.

She showed no change in expression, just like always. He frowned slightly.

Shen Donghuan had never called him “Mr. Xie” at work before, she always used his name. Was she still mad at him?

Shen Donghuan ignored his thoughts and continued, “Mr. Xie, the dinner with President Wu is at 8 p.m. at Tianxiang Restaurant. Don’t forget.”

Xie Yuming nodded slightly and quickly signed the documents. He handed them back to her. “Donghuan, you know President Wu’s preferences best. Come with me to the dinner tonight.”

Shen Donghuan didn’t refuse. “Fine.”

Xie Yuming’s dark eyes clouded with a strange emotion as he heard her agreement. He studied her, trying to figure her out.

Before, whenever Shen Donghuan was angry, she would argue with him, making a scene at home and even at the office. She wouldn’t stop until he apologized and coaxed her out of it.

But last night, she had been so angry, and now she wasn’t making a fuss at all. What was she planning?

Shen Donghuan’s hand paused as she took the documents. Her lowered eyes flickered with complex emotions. She slowly lifted her head to meet Xie Yuming’s gaze, a smile tugging at her lips.

“I’m not mad. I’ve thought about it carefully, and you’re right, I can’t live without a child.”

She would have a child. Her own child.

Xie Yuming’s eyes lit up with joy. He stepped closer to Shen Donghuan.

“Donghuan, I’m glad you see reason. Just endure it for five more months. Once Fu Ling gives birth, the three of us can live happily together.”

With that, he pulled Shen Donghuan into his arms, patting her back affectionately, as if they were the perfect couple.

But Shen Donghuan’s eyes were clear, devoid of any emotion. All she felt was the anticipation of divorcing Xie Yuming in a month.

By nightfall, it was 8 p.m.

The entire City A was bathed in dazzling lights, with towering buildings and endless streams of cars.

Shen Donghuan arrived early at Tianxiang Restaurant and made sure everything was arranged perfectly. Checking the time, she figured President Wu would arrive soon.

She called Xie Yuming’s assistant while heading downstairs to greet President Wu.

The call connected quickly.

“Assistant Li, where are you? President Wu will be here any minute.”

Assistant Li replied just as quickly. “Young Mistress, Mr. Xie is already downstairs.”

Shen Donghuan let out a small sigh of relief. “Good, I’ll be right down.”

As long as Xie Yuming was here, the billion-dollar contract would be secured.

Just then, the elevator doors opened, revealing a group of people chatting and laughing.

Shen Donghuan hung up the phone and looked up, only to meet a pair of deep, devilish eyes.

Xie Shu stood tall among his companions, exuding the aura of a king. He was impossible to look away from.

Xie Shu noticed Shen Donghuan too. Seeing her in a fitted dress that accentuated her perfect waistline, he raised an eyebrow, a playful smile curling his lips.

“Sister-in-law, what a coincidence.”

Shen Donghuan hadn’t expected to run into Xie Shu and his friends here. She glanced at his companions, all influential young heirs of City A. She gave a polite smile.

“It really is a coincidence. I have a work dinner tonight, so I need to focus. You and your friends have fun. I’ll cover the bill later.”

With that, she brushed past Xie Shu and stepped into the elevator.

Xie Shu caught the lingering scent in the air, the same fragrance from last night in bed. His eyes softened, a hint of desire flickering in their depths.

He turned back and called out to her with a smile. “Then let me thank my sister-in-law for all of us~”

The elevator doors closed. Ren Zhou, who had been standing next to Xie Shu the whole time, noticed the change in his friend’s expression.

He leaned in and whispered, “Xie Shu, are you serious about your sister-in-law?”

Xie Shu glanced at Ren Zhou, his dark eyes like a bottomless abyss, filled with shadows.

“Yes.”

His answer was direct and unashamed.

Ren Zhou had suspected this for a while, but hearing it confirmed still left him stunned.

“Xie Shu, she’s your sister-in-law! Aren’t you afraid of what your brother or your family will, ”

Xie Shu shoved his hands into his pockets, looking completely unfazed.

“So what?”

He stared at the closed elevator doors, as if seeing Shen Donghuan standing inside. His eyes were full of determination.

“I like her, so I will have her.”

If his brother didn’t cherish her, then he would.

If his parents looked down on her, then he would treasure her.

He wanted Shen Donghuan. Even if it meant being the despised third party, he would seduce her, get her into bed, make her addicted to him, and keep her by his side forever.
