After Marrying the Top Alpha of a Wealthy Family, I Am Spoiled Rotten Chapter 54
Chapter 54
Wen Yan planned to take Xie Yan to Grandpa Lin's place to hide for a while. It was the safest place Wen Yan could think of at the moment. Grandpa Lin was a kind-hearted and soft-hearted person. After learning about Xie Yan's situation and seeing him with two kids, he probably wouldn't turn them away.
After discussing his plan with Xie Yan, the two of them packed up the kids and their luggage to check out of the hotel.
"You're pregnant, why don't you let me carry the luggage? You just hold onto Xiaoxiao," Xie Yan suggested, feeling guilty seeing Wen Yan awkwardly carrying his luggage while holding his child.
"It's fine," Wen Yan smiled. "I occasionally do some physical work at home."
The small hotel didn't have an elevator, and as they spoke, they had just reached the second floor. They could already hear the owner talking to a customer.
"Hello, sir, who are you looking for?"
"Wait a moment, sir!"
Wen Yan was walking ahead and turned to look at Xie Yan, who looked up to see a well-dressed alpha coming up the stairs. The alpha's face was handsome yet intimidating under the dim light.
Xie Yan was startled and hurriedly called out to Wen Yan. Xiaoxiao also started to cry.
"What's wrong?" Wen Yan asked while checking on Xiaoxiao. Then he saw Lin Chuanwu standing on the landing, staring at him with a gloomy expression.
In the back seat of the car, Xie Yan held the two children, trying to minimize their presence. In the front passenger seat, Wen Yan spoke with his eyes downcast.
"Xie Yan filed for divorce from Cheng Xiangyu, but Cheng Xiangyu refused and kept pestering Xie Yan. I want to help him."
Lin Chuanwu asked, "How do you plan to help him?"
Wen Yan didn't answer.
Lin Chuanwu turned to Xie Yan in the back seat and said, "Throw away your phone."
Xie Yan was puzzled.
Lin Chuanwu explained, "Your phone has a tracker."
Xie Yan immediately understood, "No wonder he always finds me wherever I go. That bastard is monitoring me."
Furious, Xie Yan opened the car window and threw the phone out with force.
Xie Yan's reaction made Lin Chuanwu's pupils contract slightly. He glanced at Wen Yan without showing any emotion. Wen Yan happened to be looking at him too.
"Going to Grandpa Lin's place is safe, but it might disturb his rest, and it's inconvenient with kids. Wen Yan has an empty villa under his name," Lin Chuanwu said softly.
"Under my name?" Wen Yan asked.
"I bought it after I found out you were pregnant," Lin Chuanwu replied casually, as if he had just bought a small trinket.
Wen Yan thought for a moment, "Then Xie Yan, you can stay there with the kids for now. We'll figure something out together later."
"Okay," Xie Yan agreed, feeling too exhausted to argue with Wen Yan.
Lin Chuanwu drove them to a three-story villa on a hillside, spotless and fully furnished.
"You and the kids have been through a lot these days. Get some rest. We won't disturb you," Wen Yan said.
"If anything happens, call me. If you can't reach me, call… Lin Chuanwu," Wen Yan added, still worried.
"Okay, I understand. Thank you, really," Xie Yan said, his voice choking up.
Wen Yan comforted him for a while before leaving with Lin Chuanwu.
On the way back, neither of them spoke. Once home, Wen Yan took a shower and lay on the bed. Soon, Lin Chuanwu, still damp from his shower, lay beside him but didn't hold him as usual.
Wen Yan lowered his eyes.
"Chuanwu, I didn't tell you because I didn't want to hide it from you. It's Xie Yan's private matter, and I was worried he didn't want more people to know," Wen Yan explained.
Lin Chuanwu stared at him without speaking.
"But I didn't expect you to help him with me," Wen Yan smiled.
Lin Chuanwu finally spoke, a hint of anger in his voice, "Did you expect me to just watch you run around with a big belly for someone else's family affairs?"
"It's not really running around…" Wen Yan tried to explain.
"Seeing you carrying luggage and holding a child, I really wanted to kill Cheng Xiangyu," Lin Chuanwu said darkly.
"Chuanwu, don't be angry," Wen Yan quickly soothed him. "It's my fault for not telling you."
"As long as you know," Lin Chuanwu pinched his face.
"But why did you suddenly buy me a house?" Wen Yan asked.
"I wanted to give you something."
"But…" Wen Yan wanted to say he didn't need it, but seeing Lin Chuanwu's unhappy expression, he quickly added, "You should have told me. If you hadn't mentioned it today, I wouldn't have known."
"If I told you, you'd definitely say, 'Chuanwu, I can't accept such an expensive gift.'"
Lin Chuanwu mimicked his tone and expression.
Wen Yan blushed, seeing how accurately he was imitated.
"In the future, I'll give you things secretly, so you can't refuse even if you want to."
Wen Yan had no choice, "As long as you're happy."
"As long as you're happy," Lin Chuanwu mimicked him again.
Wen Yan was helpless, "Chuanwu…"
Then he praised him, "You're really smart."
"I didn't even think about Xie Yan's phone being tracked. How did you figure it out?"
Lin Chuanwu remained expressionless, "That's how it is in TV dramas."
Wen Yan pursed his lips, suddenly remembering how Lin Chuanwu always managed to find him whenever he tricked him into going somewhere. But he never asked about it.
"Let's sleep. We have work tomorrow."
Just as he was about to fall asleep, Lin Chuanwu confessed.
"Actually, I'm worse than Cheng Xiangyu. I put a tracker on your phone and always have someone watching you," Lin Chuanwu said in a deep voice.
Wen Yan opened his eyes.
"I guessed."
"Is it because I always lie to you that you feel insecure?"
"No, even if you didn't lie to me, I'd still want everything about you under my control," Lin Chuanwu said, staring at him intently.
Wen Yan was silent for a moment, then gently touched his face, speaking softly.
"If this gives you a sense of security, you can do this to me."
"I won't be angry with you, Chuanwu."

After throwing away the phone, Xie Yan's side was indeed peaceful.
Wen Yan kept in touch with Xie Yan while also focusing on his game.
A week passed, and the situation Wen Yan feared—players initially excited but eventually disappointed and abandoning the game—didn't happen.
The feedback was excellent, with excited posts from players frequently appearing on major platforms.
"This game is amazing! My top game of the year, both fun and touching. I cried at the ending!"
"Yeah, I thought it was a light-hearted game, but the last level was so sad yet healing. It left me feeling a sense of longing and loss."
Such posts received thousands of likes.
Of course, the popularity of these recommendation posts wasn't the main thing, but the download numbers were increasing rapidly. In just a week, downloads exceeded a hundred million.
Wen Yan finally stopped doubting himself, finally confirming that the two years he and Chang Jing and Liu Ren spent, pouring their hearts into this, had indeed created something satisfying for both himself and the players.
Watching Liu Ren and Chang Jing happily chattering beside him, Wen Yan glanced at the photo of Xiao Chuan next to his computer, his eyes slightly moist.
He wondered if Xiao Chuan, wherever he was, would see this game. Would he be interested in playing it? When he saw so many familiar dialogues and environments, would he search for the game's creators? What would he feel when he saw Wen Yan's name…
Would Xiao Chuan understand the guilt and regret in the last level?
Wen Yan blinked, and tears fell, which he quickly wiped away.
"Boss, Gu Yi is treating us to dinner tonight. Are you going?" Chang Jing asked, leaning over.
"Yes, just in time to say goodbye to you guys," Wen Yan replied.
"Goodbye?" Liu Ren was puzzled.
"I submitted my resignation last month. I'll officially leave next week."
"Resign?!"
"Why! Why are you suddenly resigning? What about Liu Ren and me? Are you going to leave us behind?" Chang Jing's eyes reddened as she spoke. "I've been following you since I joined the company. Now that you're leaving, who will I go to when I have problems?"
"Yeah, boss, what will we do without you?" Liu Ren was also upset.
Although Wen Yan wasn't much older than them, his work ability was too strong, and his personality was accommodating and stable. Sometimes Liu Ren and Chang Jing felt he was like a god.
"I entered this industry because of Xiao Chuan. Now that I've accomplished what I wanted, I really don't have the motivation to create other games," Wen Yan patiently explained to them.
"And you should have noticed, I'm… pregnant, almost seven months now," Wen Yan said, looking at his belly.
To avoid looking strange, Wen Yan wore oversized coats to work, covering up. Fortunately, he was naturally slim, and his belly only slightly protruded, so everyone thought he had just gained weight.
"Really pregnant!" Chang Jing was shocked, immediately forgetting about Wen Yan's resignation. "I was guessing with Liu Ren why you suddenly gained weight."
"Yes," Wen Yan smiled.
"Then when the baby is born, you must let us visit."
"Of course."
"Well, since you've made up your mind, we wish you all the best in your future life. Thank you so much for being so accommodating and helpful to us, Wen Gong. If you ever need us in the future, Liu Ren and I will definitely not refuse."
Wen Yan nodded.
"Boss, are you happy with Lin Chuanwu?" Chang Jing asked again.
Wen Yan thought seriously for a moment, then confidently said, "I'm very happy."
"That's good. You're a great person, and you deserve to be happy."
That evening, Wen Yan had dinner with them. After the dinner, a Rolls-Royce was parked downstairs at the restaurant.
Wen Yan waved goodbye to them, and an alpha in a black coat got out of the car. The two of them hugged for a while at the car door before leaving together.
Chang Jing and Liu Ren leaned against each other, genuinely happy for Wen Yan.

Wen Yan and Lin Chuanwu didn't go home but bought some food and daily necessities to visit Xie Yan.
Without Cheng Xiangyu's harassment, Xie Yan and the two kids were doing well.
When Wen Yan arrived, Xie Yan was telling fairy tales to the two children.
"I was worried I wouldn't be able to take care of two kids, but now I have a bit more confidence," Xie Yan said with a smile to Wen Yan.
"Of course you can," Wen Yan replied. "But…"
Lin Chuanwu finished Wen Yan's sentence, "Avoiding Cheng Xiangyu isn't a solution. Since you've decided to divorce him, find a lawyer as soon as possible."
"I found a lawyer, but they didn't want to take the case when they saw it was against the Cheng family."
"Don't worry about that," Lin Chuanwu said.
Xie Yan's eyes reddened again. He knew Lin Chuanwu wouldn't bother with such matters unless it was for Wen Yan.
"Wen Yan, thank you so much."
"It's nothing. The lawyer Chuanwu hired is very capable. As long as you're determined to divorce Cheng Xiangyu, he'll help you win."
"He'll also help you with property division and child custody."
"I just want to divorce him. I don't want those things," Xie Yan said.
"Don't say that. You've been with Cheng Xiangyu for so many years and gave him two children. It's what he owes you," Wen Yan patted his shoulder.
"Yes, it's what he owes me," Xie Yan laughed. "Since graduating from college, he didn't let me work, and I listened to him, staying home to have kids, wasting so many years. Now, looking for a job, I don't even know what to look for. Why was I so stupid back then, stupid enough to believe he'd always love me and treat me well?"
"There's nothing eternal in this world."
"Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault," Wen Yan said gently.
"If it weren't for these two kids, who are innocent and whom I raised myself, I wouldn't even want them."
"Children are innocent," Wen Yan said. "But you have the right to want or not want them."
"I can't bear to part with them."
"Then you have to fight for child support," Wen Yan handed him a tissue.
As they were leaving, Lin Chuanwu said, "The lawyer will contact you tomorrow. Explain the situation to him, and then leave everything to him. You and the kids just wait here for news."
On the way back, Wen Yan stared out the window, lost in thought.
Lin Chuanwu warned, "Don't overthink."
"I'm not like Cheng Xiangyu."
Wen Yan was taken aback, then smiled, "I know."
"I'm just a bit emotional. Why can people change their hearts so quickly?"
"Do you think Cheng Xiangyu changed his heart?"
"Didn't he?"
Lin Chuanwu was noncommittal, "Xie Yan is determined to divorce him. Whether he changed his heart or not doesn't matter anymore."
"Yeah, it doesn't matter anymore…" Wen Yan murmured.
After a while, Wen Yan suddenly touched the top of Lin Chuanwu's head.
"Chuanwu, thank you." Wen Yan didn't expect Lin Chuanwu to take the initiative to help Xie Yan find a lawyer.
"You're a kind alpha."
"I never thought I'd be associated with kindness in this life," Lin Chuanwu chuckled.
Wen Yan, after touching his hair, also touched the back of his head, his cheeks slightly red, smiling.
"I really like this side of you."
In the dim car, Lin Chuanwu's breath hitched.
"How much do you like it?"
Wen Yan felt shy, "I want to be with you forever…"
Hearing Wen Yan say such words for the first time, Lin Chuanwu's throat tightened, "Then after the baby is born, you still have to like me a lot."
"Of course," Wen Yan laughed. "Actually, I think you're also my baby…"
"I'm also your baby?"
Lin Chuanwu's Adam's apple bobbed, suddenly wrapping his hand around Wen Yan's wrist.
"Then can the baby do you?"
